Frontline Aids COVID 19 Rapid Response emergency Fund PROJECT
HealthPlus 4 Men has been accessing the Rapid Response, Emergency Fund and the COVID-19 Fund through the Frontline Aids Foundation. The overall objective of this project is to provide Psychosocial support, SRH issues, livelihood support and other poverty alleviation activities, Stigma and Discrimination reduction, violence prevention and response, Procurement of Personal Protection Equipment’s (PPE) for the Manzini and Mbabane KP community Centre, LGBTIQ leadership development, and provision of shelter to homeless members of the LGBTIQ Community.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVE
The Covid-19 pandemic has continued to test the weak economy of the Kingdom of Eswatini. We are grateful to Frontline Aids for funding the two months long rapid response to COVID 19, which aims at mitigating the havoc and the spread of the corona virus within the Key Population and people living with HIV/AIDS. The objective of this project is to provide COVID 19 protective essentials, provision of psychosocial support services and distributing food parcels to key populations, static clinic at the clinic entrance.
Following are the interventions undertaken to help curb the COVID 19 havoc:
1. Procurement of COVID 19 Protective Essential items (Clinical gloves. masks, Sanitizers) - These items are to be used in the static clinic. The gloves are to be used by the clinical team when attending to every client. The masks are to be given to clients without masks who come to the static.
2. To rent a car which will be used to transport staff members and clients from home to the static clinic to prevent exposure from the corona virus. This car will be branded with HP4M, Frontline AIDS Foundation stickers for its easy movement as an essential transport. The driver will be given a letter from the Ministry of Health and HealthPlus 4 Men for identification as an essential worker.
3. Procurement of Food parcels- These are food parcels to be distributed to members of the LGBTIQ and KPs identified as needy and jobless. These food parcels will include basic groceries like rice, sugar, soap, mealie meal, milk. Cooking oil beans, vegetables, mayonnaise, toilet paper etc.
4. Printing of COVID 19 IEC Material. This material shall be given to all clients to also distribute to their family members and friends or networks. This also include staff Information campaign to be used when distributing food parcels and during service provision.
5. Provision of Psycho social support- This will cover the cost of psycho social support service to KPs and LGBTIQ community.
