KHULULA PROJECT
The project’s goals are to deliver advanced number registry and member information services. This includes developing services in response to LGBTI community member’s needs, to provide easy service delivery systems that uses advanced technologies and to encourage interconnection among members.
The project also helps support the LGBTI community through sensitizations and workshops. This project provides a wider lens to understand the causes and consequences of unequal power of relationships. The members are sensitized on issues of SOGIE, effects of stigma and discrimination and also sharing experiences as members of the LGBTI community. This workshops allows the LGBTI community to open up on their issues and get psychological assistance in the organization through the Rapid Response fund. Khulula project tries to build a conducive environment for the LGBTI community so that they feel comfortable in the country. Also to educate and make them understand the situation they are in.
Sensitization of 40 Parents in One Region in Eswatini
It is mainly based on sensitizing the members of the LGBTI community and parents in selected regions in Eswatini including the Hhohho region, Shiselweni region and the Lubombo region. To sensitize 40 members of the LGBTI community in two regions and 40 parents in one region. This project serves to educate, inform and support the LGBTI community through sensitizations and workshops.
Sensitization of the LGBTIQ community
HealthPlus 4 Men, through Khulula project conducted various workshops for the LGBTIQ community members in the Hhohho region, and the Shiselweni region. The sensitizations were mainly based on Sexual Reproductive Health, rights, and sexual orientation. Discussions were focused on topics which included sexual orientation and gender identity ad expression, effects of stigma ad discrimination, gender based violence, challenges faced by the LGBTIQ community in Eswatini, screening of the untold stories of the closet and also discussing on what strategies can be implemented to curb the stigma and discrimination towards the LGBTIQ community.
